Carolyn Clegg, our Plant Area Assistant has worked for Fairweather’s for 9 years!
I was employed by Christopher Fairweather to join his small team at Fairweather’s Garden Centre in Lymington at the age of 19. I have known all the family for many years.
Following my marriage in 1986, I sadly left and moved to Sussex, where I worked as a Plant Area Manager for Country Gardens at Handcross and Brighton.
After working at Greenstop in Surrey and 10 years running the plant centre at Exbury Gardens, I returned ‘home’ to Fairweather’s 38 years later.
What is your favourite flower and why?
The orchid is my favourite flower. I have always been fascinated by the flower formations.
What seasonal plant would you suggest planting to add colour to a summer garden?
Nemesia is my seasonal favourite, with tender and hardy species available. They are very free flowering with a wide choice of colours.
What do you do in your spare time?
My spare time is spent with my dogs & horses and gardening – of course!
If you didn’t work for Fairweather’s, where would you be or what would you be doing?
I would probably be working with either dogs or horses or another job involving plants and gardening.
